generator won't stay running
I just had a similar problem on my '79 diesel Kohler 8.5kw. It turned
out to be very simply a dirty fuel filter. I'd bought the rig recently and the previous owner said it'd been recently serviced. It turns out that all of my filters were a mess, but that's another story. My gen ran too when I had the start button on, but it was only because the starter was turning it over. Maybe this is unrelated, but I figured I'd share my little experience. Good luck! Mine is in the shop now and will be about $5k worth of work when I get it out next week. Obviously there was a lot of other stuff the previous owner didn''t disclose too, lol.
