CrossFires Dual tire equalization system? Pros, cons?
Jack,
My 85PT40 came equipped with them, courtesy of Wallace Craig. They make checking tire pressure with a guage a piece of cake. Both tire are inflated to proper pressure if you have to add air. Pressure is equalized if you develop a slow leak in one tire, giving you time to get repairs. If you have a sudden blowout on one tire, a check valve prevents loss of pressure in the other tire. The only thing I would suggest is keeping an eye on tire repair persons to make sure the hoses and brackets are removed and replaced properly and without damage. It bolts easily to the lug, hub cap, or drive axle > end. Properly mounted, air freely flows from one tire to the other, > maintaining equal tire pressure and load distribution." > > Do you use this product on your RV? Any recommendations for it? > Comments, pro or con are requested. > > Thanks, > Liz Pearce > 1993 WL, currently in Cheyenne, WY > |
