How Much Coolant to Drain???
Curt,

I caught about 3 gallons and about 1 gallon missed my bucket :-|

There are 2 little 1/4" drain plugs on the "bowls" of the thermostat
housings. I used a funnel with a long hose to catch the coolant in
buckets.

My Bird runs at much lower normal operating temps than before the
thermosat change.

Oil temp was 230, now 210
Coolant was 190, now 175
trans was 230, now 210-220

The thermostats increase in temp over time. 3 years ago the Bird was
displaying temps very close to what they are today, after the
thermostat change.

I do plan to replace the water pump soon, prawly in August. Just
preventative maint ;~]
