In addition to Ralph's suggestion, the easiest way to find
the "filtered" power is to turn off the 12v master switch under the
dash, go into the Left Front load center (above the sofa), the hot
circuits are the filtered ones. In your '84 the switch in the
compartment just forward of the load center turns off the filtered
power. It powers the stereo, the clock in the dash, the bedroom
clock, the monitor panel, others. It is also outlined in the circuit
diagram inside this compartment.

One problem with this however might be voltage, measure for adequate
voltage.

If low voltage is a problem then you could consider adding a DC-DC
converter to maintain proper voltage as BB did in the '86-up rear-
view monitor circuit.
