Solenoid between the chassis batteries and the generator battery
Howard:
Current will go both ways when the tie switch is used. Engine won't start, then you hit the tie switch to get a boost from the gen set battery. Gen set won't start, hit the tie switch to get a boost from the engine/house batteries. Tie switch back to normal, separates the batteries once again via the solenoids, and charging returns through the diode or battery isolator on the gen set. Some Coaches have a Bosh relay in that circuit, so the tie switch energizes the Bosh relay and the currant flows to energize the coils of the battery tie solenoids. Some of the 90's Coaches have a three way battery tie switch. But will not go into that one until I have had a po9ot of coffee and am fully awake.
