Jack,

If you are only looking for basic GPS (location info) with POI's and
basic routing, I would suggest you trade in your cell phone for the
new Motorla Q from Verizon.

I am running GPS on mine now with a bluetooth GPS receiver ($70-100)
and it works amazingly well as it is constantly downloading map
sections as you move from either Google Earth or MSN Virtual Earth,
and the added benefit is you can switch to satellite view as well.

You can get the Q for $100 with a new 1 year contract with Verizon via
Amazon. AND, it's a great phone. I also use it as a blackberry for my
e-mail and can tether my laptop to it when I don't have wi-fi available.
