Carrier vs Duo Therm A/C
Hello Alan,
I replaced the two original Dometics on our coach with two Dometic Model 595's in August 2004. Units were installed by Camping World. Camping World typically has a sales promotion on these units at this time of year and I couldn't beat their price locally. I have since installed the optional heating elements. We've been happy with the performance of these units. They keep the coach comfortable in 95-100ºF weather while running down the road or parked. The multispeed fan is a real upgrade for us over the old single speed units as we often only need to run them on low or medium speed and that is much quieter than before. Electric heating elements are adequate to get the chill off the coach in the morning during our short "winters". I didn't evaluate Carrier units. Figured original Dometics were still running after 20 years so thought it wise to stick with a proven brand.
