Air intake cowling
There is a big hole on the bottom of the outer air filter chamber on my PT38.
Presumably to let any accumulated water out. This keeps large objects from entering the air intake. When you are drawing air from that height, you aren't going to ingest a lot of rain unless you're in a monsoon. This is how mine is positioned. Looks to me like it was installed that way at the factory. I put raised air intakes on Land Rovers all the time in my business & they are all faced forward for maximum air flow. Never had a problem with rain water and many of these are on diesel engines. They have face grills on them too. The Squires wrote: > Terry, > > I am sure you know what you are suggesting.
