Sticky tach 90SP36
Trash in the jeweled pivot bearings, or hair spring return,
warped or trash on face plate, intermitently open or shorted coil winding, logic circuit, solder joint or contacts of the dip switches, post connection loose. Fortunately you have isolated it to the meter by tapping on the glass. Check mfgr for repair shop however repair may not be able to duplicate problem and not fix. Tape the connecting wires while you have it out so you can still use the coach.
