FC coach owner: what 11R22.5 tires do you use / recommend?

Ken, Tires on a Motorhome will usually age out before they
are even close to wearing out. Most folks will not drive enough
miles to wear down the tread.

I feel your "still pretty good" assesment is based on this.

Condition of the siewalls is of extreme importance in tire
safety also where you will see cracking in new and old stages.

I use Equal balancing. It is a medium within the tire.

Prices can include both mounting and balancing. To me the
best way to ask would be for the set, mounted, balanced,
ready to roll, not just per tire, you can do the math.

A commercial tire dealer, or one who deals with the truck
customers in your area.

Michelin XSE or XZA, XZA2's will run $575-625. They are made
within 15 miles of Greenville but not cheap here. This was
for 12R's, 11R's are less for your coach. The last 11R's I
bought about 3 years ago were a little over $400 ea.

If you are still thinking about driving from Michigan to New
Mexico you should consider buying 6 new tires before leaving
if your presemt tire condition warrants.

Check on the internet how to read DOT tire codes, there was a
change for the millenium. This will tell you something about
the tire age, add 4 to 6 months for install. Warranty is from
install date provided you have a receipt showing date, purchase.

Where do you live? No need to give you a name of a dealer in Oregon
if you live in Florida. How old are the tires on your coach? Do you
know how to read the DOT code. Are the side walls weather cracked? As
for replacing 4 of 6 tires you sound as though you are a little
uncomfortable with just 4 new tires. Think of it this way you payed a
lot of money for a nice coach and now you are talking about scrimping
on your tires a major safety feature. If you needed a brake job would
you put the old brakes on the rear? I could not drive down the road
in comfort knowing I was running on a set of maypops. You never want
to put old tires next to new tires. I would not even run then on a
tag axle. I run Michelin 16 ply 12r22.5, XZ2. This is what Bluebird
recommended for my coach.
