ABS PIPES RESPONSE
As someone else suggested, it might be a "Florida thing." Possibly,
Florida doesn't allow ABS in their building code. It is allowed here in California for drain lines only, and I noticed a display of ABS in various sizes at my local Home Depot store a couple of days ago. The local hardware store also has a whole bunch of ABS fittings on display. If the local building codes don't allow it, then the building supply/hardware stores are unlikely to carry it in that area.
