2007 PNW Bird Tentative Rally Schedule

2007 PNW Bird Tentative Rally Schedule
1) I mentioned the 2007 Port Hudson Retreat to Allen Powell as I
left 2006 Hoodsport (Rest-A-While) Retreat and he said that he would
happy to be the coordinator.

2) A quarterly Saturday Brunch or Lunch would be great to give long
distance folks time to travel. I have noticed that there are many
PNW BlueBird WANNABEE's in the PNW Area. I plan to drive my Bird to
show (off) to any Bird WANNABEEs that decide to attend the Quarterly
meeting / No Host Bruch/Lunch Meal.

Hi, Dave (and all)--

Are we assuming the same folks to coordinate repeat rallys for
places we've been before (e.g., I'll be glad to take on coordinating
Hoodsport again next year)? I assume Bob G. would coordinate
Tokeland again?

What about coordinators for the Salem and Pt. Hudson rallys, por
favor? I don't know about the Salem campground, but we stayed at Pt.
Hudson on the way home from Hoodsport last weekend. Wowee--is it a
bee-u-ti-ful campground! Situated right on the water and only within
a few blocks' walking distance from historic Port Townsend
(fantastic shops, galleries, restaurants all in a town that is one
of only a few places on the National Historic Register--they've
preserved that much of their history and old buildings)! I would
imagine the Pt. Hudson campground will fill up fast for August, so
could someone from the PNW group please volunteer to coordinate Pt.
Hudson and maybe even start working on it fairly soon? I'd do it,
but I can't handle two rallys right together.

Anyway, at Pt. Hudson, we were parked looking right at the ocean and
Mt. Baker. About 7:30 PM, on a fairly clear, starlit evening, a
festively-lit up Washington State Ferry was passing right in front
of Mt. Baker, with a full moon coming up right behind the mountain
(you know, like when whatever optical illusion is happening to make
the moon look like a huge, orange sphere). Argh! It was the
photo of a lifetime, but I couldn't snap the shot because I'd
forgotten the re-charger for our camera battery!! I ate my heart
out, but at least we got to see that sight!

Also, nice idea on the no-host breakfasts (or how about brunch--for
those of us coming from much farther north?!).

The PNW Bird's tentative Rally plan for 2007 is below.

Tokeland - End of May or early June
BUSNUSA Rally in Salem Oregon - July
Port Hudson - August
Hoodsport - October

This is the rough schedule. I am considering a quarterly No Host
Breakfast in Fife Washington since they have a CampingWorld that
perople can vist after the meeting. Maybe meeting on a Saturday for
Breakfast at Denny's (Or ??) to get some Rally Planning done. Anyone
with a BlueBird or that wants a BlueBird will be encouraged to
attend the No Host Quarterly Event. Hey ... I may drive my Bird to
give future Bird Owner the chance to see a Bird. More info to be
posted later.

Comments always appreciated....
