89 8.0 onan diesel gen set, hard to start
Has been hard to start ever since I bought it , over a year ago. It
cranks great, but wont fire now. I replaced the fuel filter several months ago to eliminate it.The tank is full of fuel and the fuel solinoid energizes when start button pressed.I loosened the bleed nut on the top of the filter and fuel squirts out in a steady stream when I crank it. I then loosened the rear(3 cyl)injector on top and fuel just drizzels out when cranked. How should the fuel squirt out when a connection is loosened? I tried it from all four locations of start buttons. Tom said I could have an air leak but how can you tell? I have no place where fuel leaks out... Anybody else ever had this problem and what was the fix.. frustrated this has been going on forever.... Thanks for any help you can provide. Ed Gardels 89sp Arlington, Texas getting cooler!! |
