Me also. Use syn. diesel marine because the PO used it.Did oil analisys at
Blackstone was excelent wearing engine?I worry about it after reading these post
from alot of tec's that should know but have not gone to the straight

I've been using synthetic 15-40 oil in detroit's for 14 years now. I would NEVER
go back. I know a number of owner's that have made the switch and all are
pleased. A number of plus's to it, reduced oil consumption, reduced smoke, plus
the big advantage of extra engine protection. I;ve talked to the Detroit tech's
that go to the fmca rally's and all agree there are big plus's to using the
synthetic's. They also agree that if you use a multi-weight oil, it MUST be a
