Issues with 84 35FC
Hi Larry:
Your engine alarm light intermittent is usually caused by the temp sensor wire at the top of the radiator being broken or bad connector to ground. There is a major stress point on the wiring harness that goes through the frame on the drivers side. This is a common problem. The buzzer, depending on which system it is for could be the sensor, or ground, I would bet on the ground. It stops buzzing with the meter because your adding a resistance through the meter and supplying a floating ground, so to speak with the added resistance. On Bird's, when things are going haywire with systems, one checks the grounds, then when nothing is found, one checks grounds, then you repair it by fixing the ground.
