1992 Pt CheckTrans lite Detroit powers down
Hi Greg, Julia and Dick. Randy is away in Georgia right now but I called him
and here is the synopsis of our conversation. Randy believes the problems are not related. He said that although you may have had the grounds all cleaned there is one that may have been missed. Randy missed this one himself and only found it by accident. Apparently there is a ground strap that corrodes easily located on the passenger side of the tranny. This strap is attached to one of the two 3/4 inch bolts that secure the tranny spin-on filter bracket to the tranny housing. He only found this grounding strap when he had to remove the bracket to get at some leaking tranny lines. As far as the NO TURBO he would need some more info. His first guess was dirty air filter but I believe you changed the air filter didn't you? He would also like to know what the code 21 means. Julia if you would like to talk directly to Randy he told me he would be back from dinner at 8pm Georgia time which I believe is 7pm your time. I will privately email you his cell phone number.
