Power steering hoses
I'm in the process of replacing the power steering hoses. They have been leaking
at both ends of return hose and pump end of suction hose. The suction line has been replaced a number of times in the past. Today I pulled out the return line which I'm pretty sure is original. It was so hard it broke in pieces as I took it out. I'm going to replace the hose with high temperature hose,(300 degrees) install a cooler, and insulate the suction line where it runs left of the exhaust manifold and above my turbo. Anyone have any advice or insights? I've posted earlier that my fluid has been running very hot (228 degrees on a cool day and short drive). I've curious how hot other people's fluid is getting. Mine is subject to more heat than most since the suction hose runs above the aftermarket turbo. However the reservoir is close to the turbo on a turbo model so it could be sucking up heat also. I'm planning to mount the cooler on the backside of the first storage comparment on the driver's side. This has the advantage of not having the return line pass directly over my turbo, (about 2 inches above it) which it has been doing Kerry 82 FC 35 Denver |
