BulrissBus of the week
Bob,

On the way up, I was told Boulder Dam was closed also, so we went over
to Laughlin and then up. Saw *many* RVs on that route that must also
have been told it was closed. I would not recommend that route as the
trek over the hills from Kingman, AZ to Laughlin, NV is 7% twisty
downhill for 13 miles as memory serves. The "scenery" is not worth it.

On the way back from Las Vegas I went the extra 11 miles from the 95
turnoff to show my wife Boulder Dam, fully assuming we would have to
turn around after visiting the dam. Before we got there we got
shunted into a Homeland Security inspection area. I explained to the
private security guards we were planning to park and take the toad to
visit the dam. They said "NO problem going on. We just need to ask
you a few questions and inspect all the storage bays and the interior
and you can go across." Questions included standard where you from,
where you going, any explosives, weapons and/or ammo on board?
Inspecting the interior consisted of one guard standing in the
stepwell talking to my wife while I opened all the bays for the other
one to glance in. They never even looked at the Jeep interior
(probably not good security tactics). Less than 5 minutes and we were
on our way to the dam.

Much better than going back down to Laughlin!
