Electricans---wiring--computers
All this reminds me of a time when I had to make a unplanned
landing due to smoke in the galley of a MD-80. When we got to the gate we were met by the technicans both wearing nice clean cover-all's. They had pencils and pen's in there shirt pockets along with meter's etc etc. They climbed all over the a/c and finally ended up in the belly's electrical compartment. They looked at the wiring bundle's pulled their meter's out took reading looked at the wiring terminal's again and again and finally the lead stood up and said " IT'S IN THE WIRING"..NO #@*!.GO FIGURE! I believe it's like that with the bus tech's sometimes.expecially with the computer's. I don't believe anyone buy's a coach with the anticipation of working on it forever or making it a major work project unless their restoring one. If that were the case, I don't believe any coach manufacturers would be in business. Most people buy them to enjoy and that's the bottom line. If your lucky or unlucky enough to be able to do your own work and maintence that a big plus. Oil changes, lube etc is about the extent of most people's expertise and also of their desire to do. An important part of all this is to be able to explain or impart to the service people exactly what the syntoms are. I believe that BlueBird make's a very good machine, and with normal upkeep and maintence will last forever. I kind of like it like advertised keep it as origional as possible and don't let thing slip or slide for too long. If I were a wanna-be reading some of these post I would be wondering what's up with the maintence and reliablity of Bluebird. Sure some problem's come up from time to time but most are fairly mild in nature and no worse than any of the other coach's out there. So. Buy a motorhome enjoy it don't worry about becoming a master technian just to be an owner. Bob&Carol 93pt_40 Illinois, Soon to be in SPI ! ps...the smoke was from a overheated oven circut. (back in the day's when we served hot meals! |
