Well, you got my attention there... back when I was about 16 or 17, I
had _three_ Isettas at the same time. Took that many to keep one running. The Isettas were a lot of fun and easy to work on, I'd set a patio cushion next to it on the ground, then roll the car over onto the cushion to get full access to the bottom. (That would come in handy with a 'bird, but it sure isn't as easy to lift!) The electrical system was also good training for a 'bird... great complexity. Had a lot of trouble with the generator/starter field housing -- very clever, used the same rotor with a double sets of stators -- but the field housing tended to short out. At least it was real easy to push start. Pete Masterson aeonix1@...
