83FC + Ebay = $50,100
I am not connected at all but here is my thoughts and hopefully the
owner will shed some light once he reads the forum.

The seller can see what rating each bidder has once they bid. The
bidder may have made contact with the seller and worked out a deal.
The seller might have thought that the bidder was a real purchaser
and decided to end the auction early so the seller would not take a
chance someone else who won might not pay. I can tell you that
auctions run about 60 % winning bidders that don't pay. So when you
know you have a winning bidder that is going to pay especially with
this amount of money, I would have ended the auction early too. Only
time will tell with this bird. I would agree with everyone else that
this sell was on the top end of the market, but look at the condition
of the bird. It was in excellent shape for its age.
