Although I was like most owners using Cat filters I have since
changed. The Cat filters for our 3208 300 HP (1R0714) were a really
well bult piece. No other filter I have seen was made that well. But
Cat no longer makes the filters for the legacy engines. The last one I
bought looked like Wix or Baldwin painted yellow. Of course the Cat
price was still "high end". I bought a bunch of filters from :

Good prices and great service. They sell Wix and the Racor filter is in
a Wix box but is genuine Racor. NAPA filters are just Wix in a Napa box.

A few months ago some one told me about http://www.filterbarn.com I have
not yet ordered from them but the prices are almost too low to believe.
They carry a variety of brands. Check it out.
