What type of service do members get from their battery banks while
dry camping. The Southwest BB are headed to the desert and I am
trying to make sure my inverter and genset are in shape.

today I unplugged my 94pt with 8 12volt battery bank and a 2800 heart
inverter. I ran the inverter with a 32"LCD TV, direct tv
descrambler, dash radio sound system, 3 floresent patio lights, 2
interior floresent lights, The inverter shut down after 5.25 hours
and the batteries would not start the genset. I had lights but not
as bright. On one other test I ran the TV/components without lights
for a total of 6.5 hours and shut it down ( I didnot want to run
inverter when I was not at home).

When I tried to start the genset from a remote switch with the
depleted batteries, the starter turned slow and releasing the
momentary start button would not stop it from cranking. I was forced
to use the DD start bank via the aux switch to release the starter.

My 94 does not have a Genset battery and I guess it uses the Coach
bank to start. I think my starter is compramised due to low volt
start attempts and I pulled it off to send out to a rebuilder. I plan
on installing a 12v marine battery close to the gen set and hang a
pepboys 10/6/2 amp automatic charger to it. what do you think?
