Terry - All you hafta do is wire the dedicated genset cranking
battery in parallel with the rest of the batteries and then mount a
battery isolator between the genset battery and the coach batteries.
This will charge the genset battery along with the coach batteries,
but will keep the genset battery from discharging along with the
coach batteries.

You can use a regular 3 terminal isolator, except you only use the
center terminal and one end terminal. A garden-variety isolator will
work, but you will get a better charge by using a Schotky isolator
like they use in ambulances. Costs more but ya get what ya pay for.

Pay attention to the wiring instructions. Hook it up backwards and
you will only discharge the genset battery and never charge it Smile)

As an alternative, you could use a combiner relay where the isolator
would have gone. This relay connects the genset battery to the
alternator and coach batteries only while the engine is running. The
only problem with this method is if you get into a discharge
situation (alternator or regulator fails) while on the road, then you
will discharge both coach and genset batteries which is what you are
trying to avoid.

the genset battery not charged now by the inverters/alternator setup?
