Hi Thanks for the reply on my bluebird changing rear ends etc. is a bit much i
am reluctent to go that far.Looks like 71mph is going to be it maybe i will pick

As has been mentioned, you're being limited by rpm on the flats, not
hp. You can re-ratio the rear end, gain speed or simply slow the engine
down at cruise speed. I've found that the original (standard) 4.89 gear
in that coach is a bit short for my taste, the optional 4.63 a bit
better, and better still if you don't tow is 4.44:1. I had 4.11 in a
300hp coach, liked it okay in 4th gear (1:1) but I'm thinking it'd be a
bit tall for a 250hp coach.

I have an spreadsheet, will see if I can figure out how to post it.
