Hi everybody,

Please allow me to introduce myself. I just recently discovered this
forum and I'm really enjoying reading these articles. There is such a
wealth of information here.

Okay, a little about myself. I'm a 42 year old self employed Mobile
RV technician. I run a 1 man mobile RV service and love what I do.
I've been an RV technician for the past 13 years and have been master
certified for 9 of those. Somehow I managed to work on RVs all this
time but never had the pleasure of working on a Wanderlodge! Boy was
I missing out on so much fun Smile. Recently all that changed when I was
hired to perform some upgrades to an '84 FC31SB. This has been an eye
opening experience & I am quickly falling in love with this
interesting machine. I am very impressed with the quality and heavy
duty construction. Nothing else I've ever seen quite compares to the
way these things are built. The complexity of it's systems have
challenged me in a way I haven't been challenged in some time. I've
really enjoyed working on his coach, but my work is almost done here.
I am far from an expert, and there is so much I still don't know, but
still wish to learn.

As a result of this project, I am now considering finding a
Wanderlodge of my own to play around and travel with. My youngest
daughter is a sophomore in high school now and I have aspirations to
sell my home so my wife and I can travel full time. I may even take
my serve van in tow so I can work on the road to help finance our
adventures.

As for my nearly completed Wanderlodge project, I completely removed
all copper plumbing (for fresh water system) and replaced with Pex
and Flare-it fittings. I also eliminated the sporlan valves and
simplified the system (per my customer's request). On the electrical
side, I installed an inverter and modified the wiring per his wishes.
For those of you interested in seeing pix, I've uploaded them to this
site. To view just copy and paste the following to your web browser:

I'm really glad I found this site and plan on hanging out
and reading your archives in my spare time. Looks like that will keep
me busy for some time to come. Bye for now, you'll be hearing more
from me. Tim
