Over charging alternator

Over charging alternator
On my 92, alternators show charge on the Coach only unless the switch
is tying the two banks of batteries together. Can't remember for sure
if both showed charge regardless of switch position. Seems as though
they should. Might be something to investigate further. Thanks.
