Mystery of the "water in filter" alarm.
My water in fuel light stays on also. I checked the racor and then drained about
three gallons out the bottom of the fuel tank and found no water, evidently a
bad water detector. My tank is full [approx. 300 gals] so repair is impossible
now.

I discovered that the light/alarm signal was shorted -- simply
pressing on the panel would set it off. I've clipped the wire
bringing in power for now until I figure out exactly what's going on
with the signal. (This is the alarm on the panel above the entry door.)

I double checked the Racor -- absolutely no water in the bowl -- I
drained several ounces out to make sure, but the fuel looks perfectly
clean. I haven't gotten under the coach to drain the 'sump' in the
main fuel tank. With 290 gallons (or so) in the tank, I don't want to
have fuel spraying all over the place. I'll make a check when the
fuel is at a much lower level. I don't expect much water in the tank
as it's been kept full (as practical), so condensation shouldn't be
much of a concern.

My best guess is that the alarm is bad ... but we'll see.
