Yes it's a magnetic wave exciting the iron atoms creating heat.
Used in industry to heat bearings to expand for a tighter fit on shafts.

I had read about them at one time because I was interested, although now I was a little foggy on the actual details. Suppose this is why the video show the eggs only cooking in the pan and not on the stove. Must make clean up, with not burning stuff on the stove a snap. My understanding was that Europeans have been using induction cooking for many, many years. And at $350. that is not a bad price!
