Thinking caps on?
Ralph,

I just did the same modification ... took out the original pumps (2)
and the expansion tank and replaced with the ShurFlow variable speed
pump.

I have _no_ "burps" as you describe. The only time the pump switches
on is whenever a valve is opened somewhere, causing a pressure drop
in the system. Perhaps you have a leak that drips under the coach or
into a basement bay...?

Depending on the type of plumbing you have (I have polybutylene, but
that came along well after 84), you may have specific potential leak
sites where a leak of long standing may occur. In my case, the higher
pressure caused the water system emptying valve, that had a hairline
crack of long standing, to fail. No other leaks appeared.

The Sporlan valve on my system controls the flow when you flip the
'fill tank' switch. In that situation, the ShurFlow runs continuously
(that is, until I turned off the water pump switch). So, I presume
that if my Sporlan were letting a small quantity of water seep past,
that it might trigger the Shurflow from time to time.

If you have thoroughly checked all other sources of possible leaks
without finding any, then I'd say you have a Sporlan rebuild in your
future....
