Zip Dee Window Awnings
You need to replace the guts, a spring wrapped around the rod with caps on each
end . Contact Zip Dee they will ship the parts assembled in a tube. Parts cost $50 from Zip Dee and takes about 1 hour to fix. 1) Remove awning from coach 2) Drill out 3 rivets 3) Remove the guts 4) Slide in the new piece, rod and end caps are assembled when they ship 5) Attach awning to tube with new rivets provided in kit 6) Attach awning and 1 arm to coach 7) Wind up spring and attach arm, mine took 3 turns Troy ----- Original Message ----- From: Keith Strehle To: WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com Sent: Thursday, February 22, 2007 11:48 AM Subject: [WanderlodgeForum] Zip Dee Window Awnings I have my work cut out for me this weekend. (Thanks Ralph!) But in the mean time I need to get some info on Zip Dee awnings. One of the small window awnings is broken. As in, it won't roll up on it's own. There are no levers or anything so I assume it is a preset function. Half of the rod that goes through the middle of the tube came out the right side. Is it supposed to be one piece? And how do I rewind/re- tension it? Thanks [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |
