When I got my Bird there was a scorch mark made from a lamp which over
heated on the end table of the couch. I went to Home Depot or Lowes and was advised that the bleamish could be sanded out and polished. The advice was right on. I used wet sand paper, starting with 600 grit and finished with 1000. A buffing wheel and wax will add the finishing touch. I suspect that for deep scratches you could start with 400 if needed but I would always do it wet.
