ultra low sulfur diesel
Mike, Hope you don,t think that I'm stepping on your toes here, as you have
helped me out recently, but I must pass on to Ernie what I have learned from my
past. Ernie, I don't know what Cat recommends as a additive for its engines, as
I have noted a lot of FC's have these. I see that you have a 6V92. I do know
this, Detroit Diesel does not recommend any additive to fuel for its 2 stroke
engines. There will be a lighter mix of no.1 and no.2 fuel where you are at now,
to deter gelling. The colder the climate the more they add. In Alaska, its much
thinner than in Tx. or N.C. for instance. They also do not recommend muti-wgt
oils for 2 strokes. I have a 8V71 and use straight 40 wgt here in N.C. As you
are now in a colder climate, you should use straight 30 wgt., which is what we
used in all DD's while I was stationed in Mass. You can google the DD site, and
wade thru all the info., to learn more about these fine old engines. Stay Warm.

I dump a quart or two of cheap ATF in the tank when refueling, you can't add
too much.

I'm confused. Do I need an additive in my 6v92?
