Air Compressor Coolant Hose Project Information
More Air Compressor Coolant Hose Project Information...

Removed the starter today. Removed a clamp holding the air compressor
coolant hose to a frame section (R&R is a PITA), and removed the hose. I
bent the old hose one way and bending it back the other way the hose
broke in two. Also the hose was ready to let go where it rubbed/flexed
at that clamp. Installed the new hose. Reinstalled the starter. THIS IS
ONE DIRTY JOB. You'll need to throw away your uniform after this one.
Dress accordingly.

I thank Randy for posting that this hose should be replaced!!! THANK YOU
RANDY!

The air compressor return hose...As mentioned above, I did the same
thing with this hose and it broke in two. The lower (at motor) hose
fitting was half plugged with what looked mostly to be rust. So the
coolant flow was half what it should be. Not good.

Dick Hayden...Your bus is the same year as ours and my opinion is your
mechanic did you a favor replacing both hoses. I'm glad for you.

Tom Sorrentino...I don't know your bus history. Hopefully the hoses have
been changed. If not take Randys advise and make this project a priority.

Rob, your coach is several years newer than our coaches. You may not
have the half plugged upper hose fitting problem. But, to be safe, and
to have peace of mind, I would replace the return hose.

The hose lengths are less than 2' for the compressor OUT side, and less
than 3' for the compressor IN side. Again, I reused the hose fittings.

Hope this helps everyone.

I'm hoping to have the big engine restarted Friday this week. I'm having
fun, right?

Okay, now I can have a beer, or two.
