Fuel gauge trouble
Can anyone explain the resistor on the back side of the fuel gauge?.
My fuel gauge was relaaced along with the sending unit in the tank. Since that time the gauge reads backwards and very inaccurate. I have triple checked the wires, ground, ignition, and sending unit, checked the ignition for power it was ok, the ground was good. I even ran an external wire to the tank with the sending unit pulled out and operated outside of the tank the guage shows full when float is full down. When lifted it goes to empty, I noticed there was continunity amongst all of the connectors, I removed the resistor and for some reason the guage now reads 1/2 which is close as measured off of a yard stick. Any of your vast knowledge would be appreciated to help me fix this Pain, Thanks John 1984 RB 35' |
