1992 WB40 Spare wire from front to back?
I don't have a battery on the trailer so I don't know what pin number would be
for charging the battery in the toad. I am confidant that you will need to hook
that up also. I may have done an overkill with the 10 gauge wire but my
thinking was it is 40 ft and I only wanted to do it once. <<>>
I ran mine on the street side through the genset cooling compartment, used a few
clamps under the bus and followed the wiring in the rear wheel well to get to
the plug.

Leroy,

Thanks for that insight, the US Gear Unified Tow Brake is similar to
a electic brake controller in that the Unified Tow Brake is a
progressive and proportinal braking system with a controller that
sits on the coach dash, and a controller that is located in the toad
and tied to the relay that pulls down on the brake pedal and starts
the add-on vaccum pump for the vaccum assisted brakes. The more it
detects the coach is slowing from the inertia mech. in the
controller, the more signal it sends to the toad. So I will have to
do as you have and run another wire back there.

I have not checked the 7-pin plug at the back of the coach to see if
it supplies 12 volts (believe it is normally pin #4) to keep the
toad battery charged. If not, I will need to put a relay in that is
tied to the coach batteries and activated by a ignition switch
signal to keep from discharging the batteries when the coach is not
running.

that connections for that function were capped off at the
connector. I contacted BB and was told that an extra wire was not
pulled for that purpose. They suggested that I install a relay to
apply the brakes. That did not make sense to me as the controller
relies on inertia to apply power to the trailer. The faster the bus
slows, the more power is applied to the trailer brake system. I ran
a 10 guage multi strand wire from the front to the rear under the
bus primarily following existing tubing and wiring. A broken
fishing rod makes quick work through the tough spots. The controller
power was obtained from the the lower load center to be activated
when the ignition is turned on. I used a blade fuse for the system
utilizing an open outlet factory installed for accessory additions.
I tied the ground to the primary ground in the lower load center.
It works fine. The job took about 3 hours.
