Alternators Rebuilt
Nelson: I guess the only way to tell which alternator is actually
generating the most is to check the alternator 1---2 guage. It's my own personal opinion that this is a worthless instrument. It's not very reliable, causes lot's of confusion and just is not necessary.As long as your getting good readings on your house and engine battery voltage instrument your in good shape. I have always said that if you want to know which alternator is putting out and how much, go to the electrical bus on the rear firewall and check it out with a voltage meter. Do we really drive down the road checking the #1 verses # 2 alternator meter(guage) no, I don't think so. We just look and see if the batteries are being charged.
