As Bob notes, that is for commercial vehicles only. There is not a state in the
union that expects a motor home, regardless of weight, to cross the scales. They probably won't say anything if you do, unless they are backed up - then the truckers might be a bit peeved at you for slowing them down. The reason I asked about the ticket was because you said "if you are overweight" and I didn't realize that you meant over some listed value on a sign. For the record, I've done what you did once - I crossed the scales on entering British Columbia because the wording wasn't clear and I didn't want to risk it - I've since learned that they don't want you to there, either.
