Painting where clearcoat has peeled
I sure does not hurt to call. They were not able to provide that info to me.
Someone who had been there forever finally came up with the name BASF for me and
that got me going. It took me awhile to figure it out. Once a supplier is
found, it is no problem.
I had never heard of BASF.
There is a member on this forum who has all the BASF paint codes but I have lost
his name.

Thomas,

I called Blue Bird and gave them my body number and they gave me my paint
codes (Dupont). Have not tried to get the paint so I don't know how good
the codes are. They have records on all the birds they built. Might be
worth a call. Looking forward to meeting you at Lone Star Bird rally in San
Antonio.

Great discussion! I am planning to do some touch up and paint a new
gen door panel(don't ask) on my 83' FC35. It's the brown / tan
combo outside. Anybody know where the paint codes are on it or what
colors those are? If not I will just pull something small off to
have it matched.

I'm guessing these older birds don't have clearcoat on them as I have
never seen one pealing. I'm sure I can get decent results with lots
of patience and a little elbow grease.
