Unreasonable town ordinance
Reminds me of the time we stopped at a top shelf CG in LosCruces NM, in the
toter home. I told the counter person I would be willing to park out back, as the place was loaded with Prevosts etc. etc. They escorted us up front, no problem. Next morning a few fellow campers walked past and asked questions about our rig. On guy seemed surprised there was no AC unit on the roof. When informed it had central air, he said "OH" and walked away. My toter has more spec than most tour buses. Our bus sits in a 5 star campground. I have been able to do most anything I wanted to do in terms of maintenance. I do not change engine oil and filters there but I do sneak in the genset oil changes I carry the oil off site in the same jugs that the new oil came in. I wouldn't rebuild the engine there, I try to use reasonable judgement. So far so good, no mess, no complaints. What I have found is I have developed a reputation of tinkering on the bus and it typically draws a crowd to see what I am doing. I give them beer. Lol I have even repaired a couple of other folks problems. No charge. Good luck to you. The side, front and rear yard restrictions won't allow it. I really have no reasonable recourse, I knew there was some sort of ordinance, but no one bothered me last year. I usually left it at home for 4 or 5 days at a streach while I worked on it, and then took it to the storage facility where I normally keep it. It is a 20 or so mile ride over one lane back roads through a bunch of construction, so it isn't a fun ride. I am looking for a closer facility which will run the cost up from $68/month to $100-125, but I will save on fuel, so maybe it will be a wash. The problem may be that many facilities, like campgrounds, don't allow you to do mechanical work on site.
