Hi Art,

Sounds like a great trip.
Zip Dee has a travel lock used especially for the large awning, this
is great for securing the awning for travel.
You are not the first to have awning release trouble while traveling.
The front only lock may not be adequate. Go to this Web site

This lock can easily be added to lock the retracted awning.
