I'm a new Bird owner

A week ago I bought an '85 PT 36. It Was in Montgmery Al. I live in Southern Ca.
I was pretty nervous the first day and a half
but after that I started relaxing. That was the key. From then on it was a
comfortable, easy, enjoyable drive.

Looks like you're getting a beautiful coach. I think its the same color mine is.

Well, folks, I've taken the plunge. I'm the proud new owner of an '86
PT-40, 8V92 with 131k miles. Or, rather, I will be once I get down to
it, inspect to make sure it's as advertised, and hand over the money.
But we've come to an agreement and I'm making arrangements to head
down.

I have lots and lots of questions. I've never driven a rig larger than
a 28' Class A. This monster will be a huge learning experience. I've
also never operated a diesel let alone owned one. Any advice would be
appreciated.

Also, any tips or advice of any sort on inspecting this Bird would be
most appreciated. I am mechanically inclined but I don't know these
rigs and I'm going to be a little blind here. Is there a new owner's
checklist somewhere I can follow?

I'll be driving it back to southeastern Washington State, so if there
are any Bird owners along the way who would like to chat, let me know!

I'm proud to be a member of this family and look forward to meeting
all of you at some point in time.
