chassis batteries
I have an odd problem (I think). On my '97 40' BMC, I came home from 2
months in Florida in mid-March and plugged the coach in to the house on 15 amp service. A month later, I noticed the genset auto-started. The house batteries were showing fully charged and the chassis were too low to turn the starter over. The genset is set for auto-start for low-battery. All the batteries are new. Questions: 1. Is the auto-start function supposed to work for chassis batteries or just house? 2. What ancillary load is on the chassis that would kill the batteries in a month? 3. Is it ok to leave the dash switch connecting house and chassis batteries in the "on" position when plugged in, or will it cause damage through overcharging? I was at the Birdsnest in March and had the inverter panel and auto-start functions set-up. Your suggestions would be appreciated. Mike '97 BMC 40' Michael Brody, CEO Capital Progress, Inc. P.O.
