Back to towing
Well, Jon, where theres a will, there is a way. I have towed my 85
Jeep CJ7 with Auto trans over 12 or 15K miles.. I use a Falcon 5200 tow bar, and installed a 2nd socket in each of the CJs tail lights.. Even if the Auto tranny could be towed, this action would burn up the Dana 300 (gear driver) Transfer case.... So I installed a "Warn Full Floating Rear Axel" complete with lockout hubs. Now, I simply tow with the Trans in Park, T-Case in normal, and all 4 wheels freely spinning.. This Warn axle has the advantage, for me, of being much stronger than the stock setup. Although Arnold's boys do not require it, I am looking into Toad brakes.
