Calling The Owner Of Desiderata
Ahh, a chance to talk about my TV! The install actually has a lot more to it
then you can see. The monitor is also my computer screen, shows a feed from
my navigation system, and cable from the RV park.

As far as the TV itself. It's a Dell W3000 30" LCD

I chose this TV because it has detachable speakers (which I was not going to
use) and a PC input so I could hook it to my Shuttle computer. Mounting it
was sort of a pain. I used the existing steel supports then added more to
secure the whole structure to the cross member on the roof. The TV has
mounting holes on the back as all flat panel TV's do so they can be mounted
to a wall. I basically made a c-shaped plate with hinges on the bottom (I
should've taken a picture) that captures all of the holes on the back of the
TV and bolts into the box that you can see, but will swing down if I want to
access the rear of the TV. The box surrounding the TV is made of wood
covered with the beautiful stock brown vinyl ( I found at a automotive
upholstery place) to make it look as stock as a LCD TV in a 1981 vehicle can
look. I know this doesn't help much and pictures would be better, but taking
it apart is a pretty big deal.

I see your in WA ( I think), well I'm parked in Bellevue, WA (near Seattle)
at the moment. Your welcome to come by if it's not too far for you.

Subject: [WanderlodgeForum] Calling The Owner Of Desiderata

Someone has a photo album posted under the name Desiderata. One of the
pictures shows a very nice overhead LCD TV installation. Whoever you
are, could you please post a bit if info about the TV. What size is the
screen? Is it a 16X9 wide screen or a standard 4X3 screen? Were you
able to use the existing steel behind the upper dash panels to support
the TV, or was more support required?

Thanks in advance.
