I hate vinyl

Gardner,
Only a Suggestion...double tape off above the top and below the bottom
of that vinyl. Start with 150 sand paper and remove the bulk of the
vinyl. Then reduce down (up) to 320 or so for a good smooth finish. Then
re tape, paint, or if you like apply new vinyl.
