1981 Blue Bird Wanderlodge back on eBay
Some guy's just like sitting on the fence, and telling the world about it!

As a person actively searching I might make a comment or two. I
haven't had the pleasure of seeing Tom's coach but may at some time
in the future. A lot happens in this process. First, there are some
for sale but to make a wise choice a guy has to do a lot work.
Information is gained slowly. I have never shopped for anything
which presents such a challenge. First and foremost a guy has to
decide specifically what he wants (as to model year etc) That is
likely the biggest challenge because there is no why to test drive a
couple in a day like you would with a car or truck. Then you get
opinions which are very contrary. I have been warned off the FC and
especially the non turbo's because they are underpowered. Others
have said they are great. Each of us has to decide what they want
and need and can afford. Then a guy has to find the right one. And
then you have to negotiate a price. My experience to date is that I
have not gained enough experience to make an offer. I have a good
idea of what I "think" I want but even that is not set in stone. The
first one I drove was likely the best for the buck. The second was
priced why above what its condition warranted, the third was in
beautiful condition and priced fairly but was not exactly the model I
think I would be most happy with. Little like Goldie Locks and the
Three Bears. I have promised myself to get it as right as I can
knowing full well that is unlikely. And the reason I say that is you
have to live with something a while to know. But at least I want to
do my best. I would suggest with Tom's coach the buyer was in my
position. Liked the coach but perhaps the realities of all the
expenses involved caused him to have cold feet. I've none the same.
Left the sellers place pretty certain I was going to make at least an
offer only to think and consider to the point of deciding to search
further. The sellers have to be understanding and patient. Your
dealing with people who have little or sometimes no information, a
lot of contrary advise, and real concerns about what life with one of
these coaches is really going to be like. And that doesn't even
speak to the costs of fuel etc. Be patient and educate your
prospects with the understanding that what you teach him may not sell
your coach but might another. So if all of you do the same what goes
around hopefully comes around. I must say that I have talked to and
spent time with a couple really nice fellows on this hunt. I'll buy
one some time here soon I hope. I just have to get all the ducks
lined up. And I am realistic as well. I know that want ever I
decide on will not be perfect and that I will likely have to make it
my own. This will be fun I think. Don't get frustrated just
understand we trying to get it right. JEH
