NYC Area Rally
I'd like to plan on having an informal rally here in my home area.
I'm tenatively thinking Columbus Day Weekend 2007. I've checked with the local County owned campground (Croton Point Park) and they are ok with it. They have water, sewer and 30 amp electric. They would want reservation deposits to block out a certain amount of sites next to each other. What you get if you come. Fall foilage should be starting. The campground is on the Hudson River (a few members of the forum have been there, maybe they'll speak up), very scenic area. South of the campground you start getting into NYC area. Its less than 1 mile to the train station. Its a 45 min train ride, or 40 mile drive to Grand Central Station and all NYC has to offer. Broadway shows, museums, great restaurants, shopping, etc.., etc.. If enough people want maybe we could even get a group buy on tickets for a play! North of campground you start getting into some nice rural country (Bear Mountain State Park, Rockefeller park, etc.) I'm not trying to twist anybodies arm, but you would have to stay way longer than one weekend to do and see all the area has to offer! At this point right now I'm trying to get a feel for how many coaches would be seriously interested in coming? Feedback? Suggestions? Comments? Tom Sorrentino 1987 PT38 Bedford Hills, NY |
