Class A Licence?

Don,
Just to add a little to your info. Texas State Law is one thing, and enforcing
it is another. A friend of mine is a long-time deputy who supervises traffic
enforcement. If the coach is owned by an individual, operated not-for-hire,
insured and inspected, it would be an extreme case to get a ticket for the "over
26,000lb" rule. In fact, he said unless a coach is blatantly violating the law
(>15mph over the limit, weaving, etc.) they are not likely to stop a coach.
They assume anyone who can afford one is generally responsible and not likely
generate a lot of ticket revenue from a stop. And using the "full faith and
credit" provision of American law, you can expect cops in CA to leave you alone
as well. But I think going through an RV driving course wold still be

Regular Class C is all you need. California is Class C for any weight of Motor
Home until you get past 40 feet in length, at which point you need a
non-commercial A.Some other states (Texas, for example) have higher requirements
based on weight, often at 26,000 lbs, but they all reciprocate and won't bother
