New member - hi, and a pre-purchase question
Hmm.. I'm really new to this, but we've been doing a LOT of research and
shopping in the last two weeks. Prices have varied on '84 to '88 PT40's currently on the market from under $50K to almost $100K. That's a huge range, attesting to the fact that there is no Blue Book on these. Yet the equipment varies not all that much. So consistent use and good maintenance will count for a lot in our decision - along with meeting our specific preferences, and a price that seems reasonable. My wife Barbara (not on this forum, but I'll invite her to join) reminded me today that we started this search with a $50K budget, and stretching to double that is probably not a wise decision (I'm paraphrasing gently here). Anyway, thanks for all your help. And I still like the one in Texas best on first appearance (even with the longhorns) - but there's no way we'll buy it at $97K.
